What do you wish people spent more time discussing?

Posted on Oct 20th, 2008 by Gloria : Christian Mystic Gloria
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for October 11, 2008:

I wish more time was spent discussing why we speak to each other the way we do and why we treat each other how we do. Instead of employing these habits and ignoring that they're weird, off, awkward, angry, or sexual.
I pray that we are more honest with our thoughts, our words and our actions.
Did you know that thoughts are prayers? What then?...
We are contaminating the air with our sensual, selfish, and random thoughts.
We can't necessarily become enlightened and pure overnight, so why not start talking about the way that we are, and how we want to change, so that we can find out where and how this can be transformed. Letting others in on the process is what creates intimacy between us.
I live in a spiritual community that works on this very practice. Processing among others, in front of others, concerning others, in the face of fear and our own mess.
It is scary, it is raw, and it is what heals.

lovely thoughts, ideas and sentiments Gloria. We always seem to look for the most difficult method of overcoming our problems or to create connections that are both meaningful with each other, ourselves and God, and yet time and time again we will not do the simplest thing: Talk to each other. Not about gossip, or soap operas or sports, but actually take time to sit down and get to know each other. Sit down and be vulnerable and open to each other. To be able to open up and reveal one's hopes, dreams, fears, and concerns, not to mention our troubles is to be able to say to another, I love you and respect you at the deepest level. It is no different than when Jesus talked amongst the people. He involved himself in their lives. Loved it and I loved the simplicity of it. To often we feel that there is nothing powerful for us to do in the face of loss, love or our problems. Yet, this is one of the most powerful tools available to us, and all it costs is a desire for two people to open up and begin to trust another. Hugs and Love Michael/Chaos Divine.
