How do your emotions affect your body?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for October 20, 2008:
In many ways. Each emotion carries an energy and that energy gets caught up in my body if I am not conscious to move it through and out of me.
I used to be really concerned about my body and how to cleanse it perfectly through detoxifying, exercise, and conscious release of stored emotions. What I came away with was that I was making my body such a big deal. I started to look at foods in a new way, and how they would mix with the energy of my body and my mood at that time.
Once I found my spiritual path, I started to see that my body was pretty much my God, and yoga was my prayer, and dancing was my way of sharing the fruits of my labor.
Once I started to be taught by my teachers, I was led away from these physical concerns, and further inside of my being.
Now whenever I find my energy consumed in how my body feels on a physical level, I go inside and ask what's really important. Meditation seems to be the antidote to whatever has stagnated inside by bringing it to the light so that I can see it, feel it, and hand it over.

Help

I think when we become content in whatever state we're in, whether it be with emotions, our perceptions, our thoughts, whare we're at in each our own lives, ^ begin to place our “selves” outside our own little individual world, & start becoming more “at one” with our “whole” world, not just that which is immediate to our own being, I believe THAT to be where we become balanced, allowing our souls, our spirits to indeed “control” even the temporal emotions that come from whatever experience we have encountered, & we come away having benefitted from it all, as well as any others that are somehow connected to that experience, & thus they themselves being affected by OUR reractions (emotions).
